Every credit union wants to grow and adapt.
Very few know how to do it.

New systems launch and nobody uses them. Long-tenured teams push back. Leaders retire, and what they knew goes with them. And just as one change settles in, the next one arrives.

Great Plains Federal Credit Union is taking a different approach. Rather than reacting to change, they plan for it, building the foundation, habits and leadership mindset of the credit union they intend to become.

Across 10 branches in two states, they've unified how branches work, handed off decades of leadership knowledge, and taken lending from pen and paper to digital, all with a team where many people have 30+ years at the credit union.

Join Kelsey Helton, VP of Human Resources at Great Plains FCU, for a candid look at how they do it.

The big takeaway

Leave with a practical approach to navigating change at your credit union, from the mindset leaders need, to the groundwork that gets teams ready, and what happens when a rollout gets messy in real life.

Why Great Plains FCU

Great Plains has made change a deliberate practice instead of a reaction.

Planning for growth, not reacting to it.

Great Plains invests in the people, processes and technology of a larger credit union before it needs them.

One way of working across a growing network.

Built through mergers, Great Plains has brought 10 branches in two states onto a single, consistent way of operating.

A track record of adoption.

From everyday tools to an entirely new lending process, Great Plains has a repeatable approach for getting staff to embrace change, not just receive it.

Continuity built in.

Great Plains has a proven process for passing decades of leadership knowledge to the next generation, so transitions strengthen the credit union instead of setting it back.

Who should attend

CEOs, COOs, and leaders in HR, operations, training and compliance at credit unions facing growth, leadership turnover, or a major technology rollout.

What you'll learn

Meet the speakers

Great Plains FCU VP of HR, Kelsey Helton

Kelsey Helton, VP of Human Resources, Great Plains FCU

Kelsey leads HR, training, and much of the change management behind Great Plains' modernization. She came to credit unions by an unusual route: six years in operations and training at Arvest Bank, where she was put on the team integrating newly acquired branches, then HR and labor compliance at a consulting firm that went from 12 to 46 people in a month.

She knows what happens when growth outpaces the foundation, and she's helping Great Plains make sure it doesn't.
